To Henare Koura in Napier, I am writing to reaffirm my previous statement about the portion of land I reserved beyond the completed survey of Te Waiohinganga o Kaiarero, comprising Moana, Tapu, Tunui, Wharewai, Te Awa Tapiri, Te Waiotauaru, Totara and Te Pirau.

On the opposite shore of Waiohinganga, bounded by my former lands now held by the government, Te Upokopaito and Te Umu o Roku the boundary extending to Makimare homestead at Ruawharo, then to Te Umu a Roku and continuing to the Ngaruroro River mouth, completing the section I have reserved for government conveyance. I am the sole holder of the Crown Grant for Te Upokopaito, nothing more.
