To Henare Matua and the entire committee.
Dear friends, greetings to you all in the love of God, as the Apostle Paul says - for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. That settles the matter.
This is our formal withdrawal of our land from the committee so that it may be removed from the Court Commission proceedings scheduled for the 5th day of August, lest the authority of its law fail to be established and that land be lost, because we have now witnessed the inadequacy of its legal provisions for our land. The name of that land is Rakaiketeroa.
From the entire tribe of Mahaki
